Well, such cases are
increasing day by day in this modern world. Many cyber experts use their
knowledge for their own selfish will instead of developing their nation and
community! It’s very bad about many cyber experts. They know a variety of
things but don’t use it in a right way.
Now our today’s topic is ‘What
should we do if our google account got stolen’? My dear friends, google provides
us a very safe and secure interface to use our login credential, but to protect
our account is not its responsibility, its our own responsibility. Also, then
it tries to protect our login-password from being used by anyone else by
introducing the verification of recovery phone number or recovery email.
Why is it necessary to
protect our login data?
Ans. It is so necessary because we often use to save our
other passwords and sync them in our google accounts, such as debit card
password, Banking login password, other google accounts passwords etc. etc. Also,
to save our google data and privacy of our account. So, to protect our personal
data, it is strongly recommended to not share your login credential to anyone
and protect your account from being stolen.
STEPS TO PROTECT GOOGLE ACCOUNT:
1. You should make a complicated username for yourself, which you can memorize easily, but none other than you can even think.
2. Make a strong password for your account and never share it with anyone, not even with your know-ones.
3. A strong password consists of following components:
a. Password should be more or equal to 8 characters.
b. It should contain at least one Upper case, one lower case, some numbers and
special cases (like '.', '_', '&', '@' and space also can be used).
4. You should add your recovery email, recovery phone no. and residential address. It help you to verify your presence whenever you or someone else try to use your account in any new device.
Now we have briefly discussed the ways to protect our account. So, its time to discuss the ways to recover your password if anyone had stolen your account:
1. If you find any such symptoms that let you believe your account has been stolen, then immediately log into your Google account data management and check your recent devices in which you have logged in recent weeks. If it shows any new device, but you hadn't logged in it, immediately remove that device from your knowing devices list. It will remove the access of that device to your Google account and your data will be no more reachable to the thief.
2. Try to log into new device yourself using your username and password and ensure that your password has not been changed. [Note: Don't save your password in that device]
Unfortunately, if your password has been changed then follow these ways to recover your password-
a. Tap on Forgot password.
a.1) At first, you will be asked to type your very first password which you have made during opening of your account.
a.2) If you know your very first password and type and tap on Verify.
a.3) Google will verify your password.
a.4) If your password is correct, it will show you the option for New password and Confirm New password.[NOTE: Enter the same passwords in both the areas.]
b. If you are unable to recover from the above method, Don't worry. Just tap on 'Find some other way' option and it will ask you to enter your recovery email.
b.1) Enter your recovery email correctly and click on Verify button.
b.2) If you provided the correct email, you'll get a Google code or G-code of six digit on your recovery email and a page will appear on the Google to verify that code.
b.3) Enter that code and verify.
b.4) Your recovery email will be soon provided with various links, go through those links and try to make a new password.
c. If you are unable to recover your account using recovery email, just try the same process with recovery phone number, after tapping the 'find some other way' option.
c.1) The only change in this process is that you will be provided with a New password page just after verifying your phone number.
d. There are some other options also available for those accounts only which have previously logged into any smartphone or tablet.
d.1) Again tap on 'Find some other way' and click on 'Tap yes on Previous logged in tab and verify the number shown on both the devices (both new and old devices).
d.2) Your old device will get a notification from Google even if it is offline!
d.3) Just click on the notification, tap Yes to proceed and then click the number (shown on your new) on the old device.
d.4) If you successfully done this process, then you'll get access to your account and can check your account info.
[NOTE: If you find any wrong on your account, it is highly recommended to delete that google account permanently along with all the data of the account, to protect future theft.]
e. Verify using Google+ code.
Well this functional app has been removed by the Google inc. but this feature to verify your account is still available for Google users. In many of us phones we get a pre-installed google inc. app, that is Google+. This app has a unique code associated with every google account and it is approximately 2-4 codes associated with each and every account. Many times on tapping over the 'Find some other way' gives you the option of verify Google+ code.
If you get this code or have written it somewhere, you have to simply verify it and after successful verification, you'll see a change password page. Just type your new password and confirm it, your new password will be updated.
I hope all the methods have helped you to recover your account.
These are very easy steps to recover your account, just try yourself and I'm sure you Bhaiya will find it very very easy.
